If you plan to live and work in a country where the entire population or most of it speaks English, passing a special test cannot be avoided. To objectively assess the level of English proficiency among foreign citizens, Cambridge ESOL Examinations, the British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia have created a special universal test. An IELTS certificate is needed for every applicant planning to enroll in a university in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and other countries. It is also useful for young professionals who want to emigrate to these countries and find an official high-paying job there.
The certificate reflects the assessment for 4 different modules. The test shows the ability to read, listen, write and speak in English. Also, according to its results, an overall score is given. Taking the exam with interruptions takes 180 minutes, one hour of which is allotted for reading and writing, 40 minutes for listening and another 11-14 minutes for talking with the examiner. For many children and students, taking the IELTS is so stressful. But the International Union of Youth offers several courses that will help systematize knowledge, fill in the gaps and successfully pass the test.
